Dell Vostro 1510: My new love
I have a new computer and, for the first time, a laptop. It's so beautiful and now boots XP (modded how I like) and kubuntu. As I have only had linux on it for a few days it is cracking the shits with driver problems. No wireless access for me, but otherwise flawless victory for the ubuntu install process.
I just got a sweet-as mouse at $35 to take with me overseas (that is why I got a laptop really, that and they are hot) and a 4GB USB key for $23, an awesome jumper for $4 and jeans for $7. I just broke in the mouse scroll-wheel then, its now nice and smooth.
Eliza Dushku is now my wallpaper (previously it was a motorcycle). I have forsaken iTunes for WMP 11 and then WMP for Songbird (which is still in alpha, so its frequent crashes are completely forgivable... trust me... when songbird is released, there will exist no competitors in the media business... it seriously has blown everything else I have used out of the water: WMP, winamp, itunes, rhythmbox, amarok, banshee, and many more!
I have been running Oblivion and Assassins Creed, just to test it out and the poor baby struggles with Assassins on the lowest graphics settings it runs fine but very hot. Poor baby.
On my 4GB USB stick, I have just installed PortableApps and several expansion programs, including those microsoft diagnostic tools and - kubuntu again. haha. hey, its 4gb that is plenty for a live KDE OS.
OK, I have to go upload wordpress onto my new website... To make the travel blog for when I leave in LESS THAN A WEEK!!! OMG!!!
